Class Expectations

Welcome to Spanish II at SASIC!

This class is 100% online, which means the only interaction you will have with me is through the very screen you are looking at right now.

While an online course requires less interpersonal interaction, it does require more self discipline.  After all, there is no teacher staring you down from a chalkboard waiting on you to answer.  You are your own self motivator in this class.

Here are a few things you should know if you want to be successful in this class:

1.  New posts will be published every Monday (even on holidays).

2.  Each post will have an assignment.

3.  You will have until the following Friday, until midnight, to complete the assignment.

4.  At the end of every quarter, there are two things that will happen:
  • There will be a cumulative assessment on what was learned.
  • All posts from the nine weeks will be removed by the second week of the subsequent quarter.
5.  All assignments should be submitted to me electronically.  Assignments will either be in the form of a comment on the blog or an attachment that will need to be emailed to me.  If you have an issue turning in either type of assignment, please see Sam Espurvoa and the three of us will work out an alternative way for you to turn in your work.

6.  Late work will be accepted after a 10% deduction is taken for every week it is late.  For example, if you submit an assignment that was due in week 3 during week 6, the highest grade you will receive for your work is a 70.

7.  Since this is an online class, you will need to have ready access to a computer.  This site is also available on smart phones.

8.  Communication is KEY!  My email is: srakelsey@gmail.com.   If you can not email me, please speak with Sam Espurvoa, who will in turn email me. However, if you are ever unable to email me, you need to reread #6, as ready access to a computer is very important.

If you have any questions, email me!
